Two WJCC Schools, Norge and Clara Byrd Baker, hosted literacy expert Dr. Sue Duncan this week. Dr. Duncan is a New Zealander who has worked as a classroom teacher, a principal in a country school, and a Reading Recovery teacher before training as a Reading Recovery trainer.
During her visit this week, Dr. Duncan was joined by WJCC’s Reading Recovery Teacher Leader, Linda Reams, and Laura Burton, Title I Coordinator, for collaborative visits to Norge and Clara Byrd Baker Elementary schools. Dr. Duncan facilitated observations and discussions between interventionists and classroom teachers about students’ reading progress and instructional methods.
The experience was made possible under the Title I professional development strand in coordination with GSU.
