Norge first graders enjoyed a visit from the Toano Station Fire Department to learn about fire safety. Students had a chance to look at the gear the firefighters wear and also learn many of the features of a fire truck! Students even had a chance to walk through the front of a fire truck to see inside.
One of the main things students learned was to “Get out and stay out!”. This emphasized that if they see fire or smoke, they need to evacuate and stay out. Students also learned about the different tools firefighters use, as well as the different jobs they have such as chief and driver. They learned that all of the jobs have to work together as a team to put out a fire.
Thank you Toano Station Firefighters!
